EXTENSION Master Gardener Volunteers of Pasquotank County

Master Gardener VolunteersĀ are part of the volunteer staff of the NC State University's Cooperative Extension Service. They provide unbiased, research-based educational assistance and programing on horticulture and environmental issues to the gardening public.


Monday Jan 20 is MLK Day of Service.

There are numerous opportunities available to MGVs this Monday. Besides a traffic island clean-up at 11am, you may also choose to volunteer your time with many of the activities organized by MACU.

An optional orientation will be held at 8:30 AM in the Gymnasium (pyramidal building) on MACU Campus.

Project work at the sites below will begin at 9:30 through the noon hour.
A second set of work parties will go to work on the varied sites below from 1 - 4:30 PM.

Central Elementary School -landscaping
Pasquotank Elementary - landscaping
EC Middle - landscaping
Weeksville Elementary - painting
Northside - painting
Working with AMEN Ministries at 5 houses to paint/clean
Tabernacle of Faith Women's Shelter - painting/cleaning
Cool Whips Farms - boat building

A "grilling out menu" Lunch will be for sale for $5 a plate from 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM in the Gym. Volunteers can eat there in fellowship.
